North Shore
The roadside pullout on Cypress Bowl Road at 416 m, looking south-south-east across Vancouver, the Lions Gate Bridge and the Strait of Georgia. Free, paved, twenty-five minutes from downtown, and the most reliable city-lights viewpoint in the region.
Sea to Sky
A provincial park 40 minutes up the Sea to Sky with a pier, a floating dock and a west-facing view down Átl'ḵa7tsem. Genuinely darker than anywhere else this close to Vancouver - and gated at 11pm, which changes everything about how you shoot it.
